Acceptable Variation? Huh?

With a raging case of ADD, frustrating my ability to follow through with anything, how dare I imagine that I'll be able to keep up a blog?

Hey, ya gotta dream. And in my dreams, this blog will have some interesting things to say. Some of it will be about politics, some about religion, some about science. Might as well cast the net very wide.

So what's the deal with the title? Once upon a time, a physician, trying to explain an irregularity in my heart, described it to me as "an acceptable variation of normal". That phrase has stuck with me -- thanks to the laughing friends who thought it an apt description of me in general. (Incidentally, a specialist later told me that the diagnosis was erroneous, and that my heart is in fact perfectly normal.)

And on that note, I'll turn off the lights (to the great benefit of the poor June-bugs that are bouncing off my window as I type) and go to bed.
